Our Core Values
As we pursue or purpose, mission and vision as a ministry, there are five core values that we firmly cherish and apply as our guiding principles in all that we do: Jesus Christ, the Gospel, transformed lives, intimate family, and being a missional church. Along with our faith statement, we hold firmly to these values as God's will for our ministry.
Jesus Christ
It is in Jesus the person that God reveals to the world the fullness of who He is and His heart for humanity. The Bible teaches that our faith does not boil down to principles or ideas, but to Jesus the person and our relationship with Him.
The Gospel
History shows that the world is broken. Even so, God loves the world with all His heart. Acting on this love, God entered history through Jesus to renew and restore people and the rest of creation. By trusting and depending on Jesus work done on our behalf, our relationship with God is restored and we are given the power to live full, joy-filled lives as He originally designed.
Transformed Lives
Jesus and the Gospel transform lives. Jesus takes away all the things that condemn us and gives us new identities as God’s children. As God’s redeemed children, Jesus dives into our lives and frees us form living lives of fear and enslavement. He gives us new vision and purpose in life, and gives us the power to realize and grow into them.
Intimate Family
Jesus teaches that the primary purpose for which we were created is to live in intimate and loving relationships with both God and people. Jesus unites people at the most profound personal and spiritual level no matter their race, class, gender, or limitations.
Missional Church
Jesus calls us to bring His message and power to all people and to all spheres of their lives. He empowers us to lovingly and joyfully serve regardless of belief or lifestyle. Thus, at Hope, we are on a mission to bring renewal and transformation to the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of people’s lives. We are a people committed to sacrificially giving of our people, talents, resources, time, and money to those in need, locally and abroad. And ultimately, all around that world, we wish to plant churches that will continue this mission.
Faith Statement
We believe that the triune God created the universe and all that is within it. Out of His love, God made Adam and Eve in His image in paradise; however, when they rebelled against God (sinned), that image was marred and death became the legacy for all of creation. However, God, out of His great mercy and love, sent His Son Jesus Christ to die and take upon Himself the sins of humanity. After suffering the just punishment of those sins, God raised Jesus. Any and all who trust in Jesus by faith are born again as the redeemed children of God. God empowers us to live a full life as He designed by giving us the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God by which He reveals to us our purpose in life, His plan of salvation, and His heart. Through prayer, we can communicate directly with God. And in the church, we experience the community of God through various means such as worship, baptism, Lord’s Supper, service, giving (tithe), teaching, and so on. It is through the church that we grow, learn about God and ourselves and each other, and become witnesses and servants to the world.God commissions us to bring the Gospel of salvation and redemption to all people of all nations. And we are to continue this work of discipleship and creation stewardship until the return of our Lord.
